Casual Wednesday- Lazy edition

It's Casual Wednesday!!!!! Also known as Halloween!!
I can't wait to hand out candy later, but as for now I am sitting on the couch wearing a fleece pull over, catching you all up on my style choices the past few days, and catching myself up on some Grey's Anatomy.

So, since I don't have anything special on right now I will fill you in with my work outfit from yesterday.. be on the look out for a possible THIRD post today to showcase what I will be wearing later!

Yesterday, I was shooting for casual, edgy, and comfortable. I wore a black leather jacket, black and white striped shirt, red scarf, and a black maxi skirt, with pointed toe Steve Madden Flats.

I had a wonderful day, full of clients. Including a much needed catch up session with my soul mate, and maid of honor, Shea. I really love my job.
I finished out a long day with not one, but two cups of Sleepy Time tea. My absolute FAVORITE! Seriously, if you haven't tried it, you should.

Also, My aunt posted this picture of my grandfather on Facebook. Wasn't he so handsome! I am so glad this clean cut, classy look is coming back into style. SO much better than seeing guys walking around with their pants at their ankles.

Weekend wardrobe- Halloween Edition!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN LOVES! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day, full of crazy costumes and candy. Since today is my off day from work I didn't get to dress up.. not that I'm complaining about sitting here in a fleece pull over and yoga pants.. it's too cold for all that mess.

However, I did go to a Halloween party on Saturday.. So you get to see a costume after all :)

I was a pin up girl.. who was mistaken quite a bit for a pirate. I don't have any pictures with other costumes from the night, but I am sure there will be plenty to steal off Facebook soon.

Sunday was a day of recovery, and a date night with my wonderful soon to be husband. We have been going to a restaurant in Mentone, Alabama for quite a while now, and the chef has recently moved to a new restaurant. So we decided to give that restaurant a try. If you are ever near Mentone I HIGHLY recommend going to J. Spencer's. It was phenomenal. There really aren't even words. We started off with steamed bread and a field green salad. The salad came with home made blueberry balsamic dressing that was to die for, and the bread had a spread made of whipped butter and blueberry and grape preserves. I could have eaten it by the spoonful.  For our main dish Zach had Chicken Parmesan over angle hair pasta, with butternut squash with cinnamon and almonds. I had Salmon Wellington, which is salmon wrapped and baked in a puff pastry, covered in a cream sauce. With steamed broccoli with the same cream sauce. Seriously, to die for.

Sorry for the rant.. It was really that good. Anywho, this is what I wore.

I was channeling my inner Rachel Zoe with my fur vest. From Zara KIDS. Yes, it is a kids vest. Isn't it insane! I paired with with a black shirt, a nude belt from target, dark skinnies, and my aztec cowboy boots from Tj's.

I Love Me Some Aztec..

The past few days have been busyyy. So busy in fact I totally forgot to take pictures of what I wore yesterday. Well, actually that is kind of untrue. I forgot to take pictures because I woke up late and didn't have time.. then I had my hair colored after work so I can't take them with wet hair.... and then Zach and I went to a show and got back in after 11 so I was tired.. and you cant' take pictures when you're tired and ugly. Maybe I just need to stop making excuses.

All of that being said. I wore a black and white slouchy sweater from express. Which I also wore in the picture below. With black leggings, and knee high biker boots from Charlotte Rousse. Super comfy. Especially since I haven't been sleeping well, so anything remotely uncomfortable sounds TERRIBLE.

Gah this picture makes me realize just how much my hair has grown! Because honestly, it feels like it hasn't grown a bit. If I ever start talking about cutting my hair off again someone please knock some sense into me. Worst idea ever.
Speaking of hair. I have brand new, bright, vibrant, color!!

So, today I wore a black and white chunky sweater, belted at the waist with my grandmother's red skinny belt. I belted to give the sweater shape, but mainly to keep it out of the water in the shampoo bowl. It never fails, anything baggy gets soaked at some point. I wore my hot topic black skinnies, which I absolutely love, and my black Forever 21 combat boots.

I Couldn't Resist...

I just received this cardigan in the mail today, but I couldn't resist wearing it right away. I have seriously been awaiting its arrival since I completed my order. The colorful Aztec pattern is perfect for fall. I'll bet you'll never guess where it came from.. yep, you guessed it. Hope's. If you can't tell by now I am completely obsessed with this store. I haven't been inside a mall or a Tj Maxx to shop for myself since I found it.

I paired my cardigan with a deep purple shirt, dark skinnies, and nude pumps. Also from Hope's. I belted the cardigan to give it a little shape. It also looks phenomenal not belted.

I also have to share my favorite mug with you! I'm currently drinking Harney & Sons Pomegranate Oolong. Yummm.
Oh & Btw; In case any of you didn't know. There is a new Tinkerbell movie coming out soon. I'm so excited I can't stand it!

Leather and Lace

I don't typically wear skirts to work, I feel a little self conscious in them. I'm always afraid I'm going to move the wrong way, or go to grab product and reveal parts that clients do not want to see... Or better yet, that I don't want them to see. But, every now and then I have to break out this little gem, a black lace skirt. I love love love it. I know you cant see the detail very well in the picture, so I took one closer.

Also, I took pictures in my bathroom today to see if the black showed up better on color. Let me know what you think.

I paired the lace skirt with my leather biker boots, a striped long sleeve shirt, my go to black blazer, and gold chains. A little edgy, a little girly.

Cooler Weather and NEW INITIALS!!

Post number TWO today!!!

This morning it was a bit chilly, so I decided to break out the sweaters. I had pretty much forgotten about all the awesome sweaters I bought last season. Needless to say, I am looking forward to more fall weather. Get ready for lots of stripes and scarves. I have lots and lots of them! Oh, and I also own 4 pairs of these pants for work. So you will be seeing a lot of them as well!

The most important part of my outfit today is my bangle with my NEW MONOGRAM!! Sure it's still 6 months until they are my official initials.. but who cares. Loveeeeee it!! Available here.

So Many Outfits, So Little Time....

Sooo I have to apologize for disappearing for a few days. I have been a very busy girl lately, and have discovered posting from my phone doesn't work. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.. I don't know. BUT on the bright side, I have been taking pictures of what I have been wearing.

So Saturday at work, I wasn't the biggest fan of what I had on so I'll keep that one hidden. I am, however, a huge fan of my after work clothes. Mom and I went to visit my brother at work and this lovely ensemble is what I wore.

Jacket: Tj Maxx  Skinnies: Target  Flats: Tj Maxx  Scarf: JcPenney

I can't get enough leather in my life this fall. I have multiple leather jackets, so I'm sure you are all going to get sick of seeing them. Sorry I'm not sorry :) This one is my favorite because it is super casual and has the jersey hood connected. Bulky layering averted! I've also been seeing a lot of Blake Lively pictures (here) with her Burberry scarf so it was a must that I recreated the look!

Sunday I went to a Hair Show in Birmingham with some of my coworkers. I totally forgot to take a full body picture.. but you can at least get an idea..

Denim Shirt: American Eagle  Infinity Scarf: Forever 21

I know this doesn't show you much of my look.. but I wore my denim shirt paired with my wonderful leather leggings, and a coral knit infinity scarf. Not to mention my grey vans. Comfy but cute. I wanted to look casually cute since I was going to be walking around for hours on end. The show went well, a little cheesy for my taste, but still fun. It was definitely a great bonding experience for those of us who went.

Visit later for my work attire today!

later lovesss, xo Britt.

Skull & Glossbones

Cardigan: Forever 21 (old) Shirt: Tj Maxx Skinnies: Express (here in red) Loafers: Rue 21 (sold out, but similar here) Necklace: Forever 21 (old) Watch: Gift Bangles: American Eagle (old) Bracelet: Pandora (Gift from my madre)

I typically don't care for skulls, but when I saw this shirt I couldn't pass it up! I don't think I have ever seen girly skulls, but if that is even possible, these fit the description. AND since I pretty much covered it in color the first time I wore it to work, it pretty much screams, "let me do your hair!" I think..  I also love my studded loafers. I wish I could afford the Steve Madden Spiked loafers, but since I can't these will have to fill the emptiness in my heart. Sorry for the short post, but it is getting late and I have to be at work superrr early in the morning to do some wedding hair. My Favorite!!!!

Oh, but first I have to share the sweet face I just got off the phone with. Isn't he the cutest :) Pretty good way to end a long day!
Goodnight loves. xoxo Britt.

Leather Leggings, Need I Say More?!

I have been looking absolutely EVERYWHERE for leather leggings. They are in practically every picture I have pinned on Pinterest since I started thinking about a fall wardrobe! After a lot of searching, and countless trying on, I thought I was never going to find a good pair. I felt like Goldilocks. One pair was too thick, one pair looked too cheap, almost all of them were not worth the price tag. THEN one of my absolute favorite boutiques Hope's posted a pair on their website, for $27!!! Since everything I have ordered from Hope's has been extremely good quality I decided to take a leap of faith and order them.. I AM IN LOVE. Not too shiny, not too thick, I. Love. Them. Thank you Hope's!!

Casual Wednesday Numero Uno

Today is officially Casual Wednesday number oneeeeee! (Or as I like to call it, my day off!)

Are you prepared for my first fabulous outfit? Well.. not to be a buzz kill.. but it actually isn't very fabulous. I had these grand plans of wearing my absolute BEST outfit today to kick things off with a bang, but things never go according to plan.

I woke up way way way super duper late today and Zach, being the lovely man he is, was pushing me out the door to go to lunch. (yes, lunch & I just woke up) Soo.. you get to see Brittany's I woke up late and threw on an outfit to get out the door, look.

Please excuse the horrible lighting in my room.. I'm trying to figure out where the best place to take my pictures is.

Black on Black on Black

My view as I typed my first post.
(Yes, hairstylists are extremely messy)

I think my outfit today has inspired me. Our dress code at work is all black, with a little bit of white here and there. So, that being said, I am going to start documenting my work attire. All black can be fashionable, it's hard to believe I know! These posts will have to start Thursday since I am off on Wednesdays. So, I guess that means there will also be Casual Wednesdays posts. Get excited!!

hi.

So I have recently became absolutely obsessed with beauty and fashion blogs... and when I say obsessed I mean like spending every free second on my phone trying to figure out how to find more. I guess I can thank Pinterest for that. My poor Fiance' probably thinks I am more interested in blogs than him at this point. So as I'm sitting in the break room at work (yes, I am currently in a room full of hair stylists chatting away) I start to think, hmm.. I could totally do this. Sure I will probably be the only person to ever lay eyes on this page, but I figured what the heck. I'm not sure what I want this to turn out to be.. so for now I am going to tell you a little about myself.

First, My name is Brittany. I am 22, living in Georgia, and working at a hair salon.

I am currently engaged to the most amazing, sweet, talented, loving man in the entire universe. His name is Zach.

He owns a Pizza Restaurant called The Crushed Tomato. If you are ever in Georgia you should come by and have the best brick oven pizza you have ever put in your mouth. We are getting married in April and I CANT WAIT!

He has an adorable little boy named Silas. Seriously, the most beautiful child you have ever seen. Together we make a pretty good team!

Hair is my passion. I love nothing more in life than to work my magic on someone and see them leave with a huge smile on their face. Wedding and photo shoot hair is my absolute favorite, but a good cut and blow dry is always fun too! To me, the bigger the hair the better. I got the bright idea to cut my hair off in a Mohawk about a year and a half ago and I am still working on growing it out.. but I can't get enough of the volume and loose curls that everyone seems to be wearing right now. I also have to admit that I am extremely jealous of anyone and everyone who has a sock bun perched proudly on top of their head.

That is all for now my loves. Clients await.
